The Cycle of Termination
November 21, 2011This post was supposed to be filed last september but due to the circumstances of the author’s laptop, it was delayed
Firing an employee is one of the most nastiest thing an employer can do. Sometimes the person being fired doesn’t understand or chose not to understand why he orshe is being fired. On the other hand the manner of firing is also something to look at but in the end the objective of the firing must be met. This thing exactly happened to me in both ways and the circle became complete.
I was fired from my first job because my superior deemed that im not for that job. Well I can’t blame him since he has not interviewed me in the first place. I would also admit that there is also a huge shortcoming on my part plus also I’m mayabang, ma ere. How and why I bahaved like that deserved another blog.
Today I encountered the same person, almost exactly like my carbon copy (sa ugali), but the sad truth is we have the same age. Deja Vu on my part, but this time I’m already at the other side of the fence. After being shown the image of my nasty side I have come to the same conclusion that this guy must go but I was confronted with the dilema of how to do it. things got more serious when the guard caught him bringing home company prooperty for personal use. It should have been a straight forward affair, immediate termination, but I decided otherwise with great risk. I would create an impression to him that I’m someone who can be reasoned with but alas it was not to be. It was simply abused. So, I would decide to use the sledge hammer approach which is to feign normalcy while at the same time prepare to pull the rug under.
(note: termination was done by simply ending the contract. Didn’t stand a chance to steal company informations but a week later attempts of hacking the business mails were detected but not successful)
